Foods do taste best when they go straight from the garden to the table
Shortcake still slightly warm from the oven. Vanilla sweetened whipped cream. Strawberries that were picked only 5 hours earlier. Thank you to whomever invented the strawberry shortcake.

Oh, my - that looks absolutely delicious! And your strawberry plants look so happy. Can't wait until I have enough plants here to get a whole shortcake's worth. Next year :-)
It tasted just as good as it looked too!
This was the first year we had berries. It was so hard to pick off the blossoms last year, but worth it. We are getting tons of berries this year.
